Liam was exposed to RSV at his daycare this past week. When he started to come down with a cough we were very cautious--then came the fever and we are worried. We went up to Tamarack to spend the weekend with John's family (Liam seemed like he was doing better and thought we could just curl up in the cabin and relax) but Liam got increasingly sick, so we called the nurse at his doctor's office and said we needed to get to the Cascade ER and not drive back to Boise. We went to the ER and we were the only ones in the hospital--they had to call the doctor to come over from his house where he lives next door to the hospital. He diagnosed Liam with RSV and a 103.4 fever, despite our regular doses of tylenol that we gave him. Well, Monday comes and Liam is almost getting worse--he is losing his voice, cough still there, not sleeping on his own or well and he still had a fever (which is like day four of fevers), so I took him into his doctor's office. His doctor said he has RSV but now a double ear infection. Since Liam's oxygen level is low he has to be on breathing treatments. We also have to push liquids since he is getting dehydrated. Poor little guy is sick, sick, sick. I got this video a couple days after he had been doing the breathing treatments--the first breathing treatment was me and my mom holding him down and Liam screaming the whole time; now he just watches his Elmo dvds so it is his little happy time. Liam is starting to feel better and we are hoping he is up to daycare this week. It is sad to see the little guy not being his busy happy self but he is coming around which just melts John and my heart.
